The author of this book, Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni, is a renowned writer as well as poet. The author hails from Kolkata, India and has obtained her bachelorƒ??s degree of Arts from the University of Calcutta. In the year 1976, she completed her post-graduate degree from Wright State University in the United States, followed by a doctoral degree from the University of California, Berkeley. The author currently resides in Houston, along with her spouse, two sons and pet dog.
