Asterix and Obelixs Birthday: The Golden Book is a collection of short stories and marks the Golden Jubilee of the Asterix comic book series. This book is the 34th episode of the series and is authored by Albert Uderzo and Rene Goscinny. The plot begins in the year 1 AD and later explains the events that took place in the year 50 BC during the birthdays of Asterix and Obelix. It narrates in detail about the various friends who shared many adventures with Asterix visit the party, the gifts they gave him, and the plans they made for the future. Caesar, who was a reluctant visitor, arrives at last with his wife Cleopatra, and he maliciously plans to gift Asterix some poisoned wine. But the Centurions, to whom he delegated this wily job, drink the wine, which is actually swapped with a jar of castor oil. Eventually, they end up having stomach cramps. The book was well received worldwide.
