He is always on the lookout for adventures or adventures always come to seek him. In the ninth book of the series, he seems to be longing for a holiday to get away from the hectic schedule that he has been having. However, he has been having the metaphorical ratƒ??s luck when it comes to a vacation. He has either been stuck dousing the fire that engulfed his Aunt Dizzy Furƒ??s mouse hole, or saving his office from being flooded. There have been occasions when he had to fix his printing press. On this occasion when everything is set, he pursues his much planned holiday. But to his dismay, everything is booked. The only hotel he manages to book is infested with fleas and Geronimo is forced to share the room with Gerbil Scouts. Geronimo is flustered, and wishes desperately to go back home.

Elisabetta Dami, the creator of the Geronimo Stilton series was born in Milan, 1958. Her father ran a publishing house where she worked as a proofreader. After a few initial years of writing, she created the Geronimo Stilton comic book, which was an instant success in Italy. She writes under the psuedonym Geronimo Stilton. The success she enjoyed in Italy made her release the series in English, which was well received in the United States. She made Sedona, Arizona, her American home. Some of her other books include The Kingdom Of Fantasy (Book – 1) and The Way Of The Samurai.
